Ski resorts in Reschenpass
The Reschenpass ski area in Austria is a wonderful place for family holidays as the slopes are well lit and contain a mix of beginner trails that make it easy for the children and expert trails that present a challenge for the adults.
Found in the Tyrol Mountain range of Austria, the Reschenpass ski area can be reached by air or rail with three airports that are within a two hour drive into the region. It is recommended to hire a car if you plan to explore the area however as there are plenty of other ski slopes to visit around the Reschenpass ski resort.
Visiting Reschenpass
The Reschenpass ski resort is great for all ski levels as the 115km of slopes are equally dispersed with 39km of beginner slopes, 61km of intermediate slopes, and 15km of expert slopes. Cross country skiers can also enjoy the 50km of trails as well. For snowboarders, there are Freeride spots, a boardcross, a snow park and several half pipes presenting plenty of challenges for snowboarders of all ski levels.
For beginners or adults who need some aid, there is also a ski school at the resort to help new skiers learn the area. Since most of the trails are at high altitudes, the majority of snow cover on the slopes is natural, but there are snow cannons in case the area does not receive its annual snowfall.
The level of après ski at the resort is acceptable with pubs, restaurants and bars to visit, but the majority of locations near the ski resort are tailored more towards family holidays. However, there are plenty of more activities if you hire a car while on holiday.
For families, the villages often have music festivals complete with authentic Austrian delicacies and locals offer hiking and sleigh ride tours of the area. Additionally, there is tobogganing near the resort pistes for those who want an alternative way to head down the slopes.
