Ski Carinthia, Austria
If you want to ski Carinthia then the skiing region is in Southern Austria bordering Italy and Slovenia, whose famous lakes and mountains have a continental climate in the summer, and a long winter of snowfall and winter sports. There's over 400km of skiing, with the seasons running from late November/early December, to April, depending on the resort.
Visiting Carinthia
Nassfeld is one of the biggest ski areas when you ski Carinthia, with 30 lift facilities and the 'Millenium Express cableway, said to carry 3,600 visitors to the ski area every hour. It's most popular for medium level runs, though there are a smaller number of easy/difficult ones as well. There's also Bad Kleinkirchheim and Aineck Katschberg ski resorts that are good for medium runs, while others like Goldeck and Ankogel Mallnitz have a range of runs.
Some resorts like Bodental also offer ski trails for cross country skiing, although they don't open quite as long as the ski runs. Most resorts in Carinthia also offer snowboarding, snow shoeing, and have a range of other attractions/après ski facilities.
There is an international airport in Carinthia's capital, Klagenflurt, where flights arrive from Germany and London. Resort guides also give directions to the main base stations/ski areas for drivers, where free parking can be available. There are also shuttle buses in most areas too, so making your way around this beautiful ski region won't be a problem.
