A Guide To Ski Resorts in Spain
Ski holidays in Spain are not everyone's first thought! There's no vast range of linked pistes, but resorts are relatively unspoilt, lively and enjoyable. Ski Spain and choose between the Sierra Nevada range and the Pyrenees.
What's The Atmosphere Like?
The atmosphere can best be summed up as friendly and relaxed. The ski schools have a good reputation and the resorts are great for families and children. The apres ski gets more lively as the evening goes on.
How many resorts are there?
There are 34 ski resorts but the main ones include the resorts of Formigal, Panticosa and Bacqueira.
Who Is It Best For?
Many ski resorts in Spain have excellent facilities for beginners, making this the perfect destination if you want to build up your confidence on the slopes. There is also plenty of choice for intermediates and the more experienced skier too.
The two main skiing areas are the Pyrenees in the north and the internationally recognised Sierra Nevada further south in Andalucia. One of the largest and best ski resorts in Spain is Baqueira-Beret, whilst other resorts are more low-key and less crowded.
Staying Here
Spain offers a good range of accommodation which should suit all budgets. It is particularly good for small family run hotels, so again a great choice for families.
