Beginners will find the nursery slopes and a "slow speed zone" in Grindelwald a great place to learn, while intermediates should try the 8km Oberjuch run on the Kleine Scheidegg, or the powder slopes at Eigergletscher. Experts can sample the Black Rock runs, or the near vertical Kanonenrohr, while boarders will enjoy 2 half pipes, a jumper's corner at Wengen, and a terrain park.
Ski Area
If you ski Wengen you are in the Bernese Oberland and the Swiss ski region of Jungfrau.
Off the Slopes

There's also the opportunity to socialise at the small selection of bars and discos, or more cultural events such as musical concerts or folklore evenings.
Away from the slopes you can try natural ice-skating, mountaineering, snowshoeing, paragliding and tobogganing.

Wengen is truly a chocolate box style Swiss ski resort and although it was one of the first purpose built resorts you would never know it. The resort has worked hard to ensure that building work is in keeping with the surroundings so it it still an extremely pretty resort.
Accommodation here includes hotels, apartments, chalets and even a youth hostel but the resort does tend to be dominated by hotels, in fact today there are 24 hotels in the resort. There is also little ski in ski out accommodation available here.
Where to Look For a Chalet
Wengen itself is only accessible by means of a cog railway with visitors leaving their car at Lauterbrunnen in a large undercover car park. There are chalets throughout the resort and there are a number of chalet companies specialising in Wengen, based here.
It is also worthwhile to check out the tourist office who also have a number of chalets on their books. There are also a number of chalet style hotels that are worth checking out here.
