La Forêt Blanche is the largest ski area in the southern French Alps and the fourth largest in the country. With guaranteed snow, great sunshine, short queues and good value for money this region really is a great choice for a skiing holiday.

With two key ski resorts of excellent repute, skiing and snowboarding is varied and good for all with wide pistes and some really challenging off piste areas. There's a new ski lift network and as well as a slalom area.

Visiting La Forêt Blanche

La Forêt Blanche is made up of two main resorts, Risoul and Vars which offer a total of 108 individual pistes, 200km of runs. All levels of skier are covered with 10 black runs, 37 red, 42 blue and 19 green runs making it a great choice for group holidays. Intermediates will probably get the most out of the region however with great long blues and cruisy reds and with pistes above 2500m skiing and snowboarding is guaranteed throughout the season.

Snowboarders will love La Forêt Blanche region. There are two snow and terrain parks in Risoul, a resort which prides itself on being the pioneer of park design. Vars also offers a great 'surfland' park. With more boarders visiting the region après ski has become more lively with a good choice of lively bars and restaurants. The resorts are also able to offer a cinema and skating rink.

The nearest airport is Geneva which is only a two hour drive away making this region a great choice for weekend or short breaks.
