Ski Évasion Mont Blanc
The Évasion Mont Blanc ski region has a lot of old world charm still about it. It contains three main ski resorts, Megève, St Gervais and Les Contamines. The area is huge and varied with 500km of downhill pistes as well as snow parks and cross country trails.
Megève is a traditional, up market resort which, while it only sits at 1113m, often receives prodigious snowfalls, thanks to the nearby presence of Mont Blanc. It has a lot of old rustic charm. Skiing here is great for intermediates with lots of easy green and blues. Expert skiers may do better to head into Chamonix or Argentiere, a short distance away. St Gervais is likewise a beautiful old spa town, excellent for intermediates.
Visiting Évasion Mont Blanc
This ski area is really unique. The Évasion Mont Blanc has superb proximity to Geneva, being only 50 minutes away. This makes it a great choice for weekends or short break ski holidays but also for its medieval charm, lacking in some of the more purpose built ski resorts.
Megève has a beautifully preserved medieval centre with narrow cobbled streets. This ski area is great for intermediate skiers or boarders who don't want to travel far but want an atmospheric and beautiful place to stay.
