Flights into Barcelona
Barcelona is a busy international airport, the second largest airport in Spain. You can fly direct to Barcelona from London Heathrow, Gatwick, Stansted, Manchester and Liverpool. From Cardiff, Edinburgh, Exeter and Glasgow you can fly to Barcelona but will need to stop in Amsterdam and Paris. Barcelona is well served by low cost airlines including easyJet and Monarch.

If you do have the time then it is certainly worth spending some time in Barcelona. One of the highlights in the city is Las Ramblas, the medieval old town. It is full of cafes, tapas bars and street performers. Then for art lovers there is the Picasso museum showing a good selection of his work. Then there is the Park Guell full of great sculptures.
But Barcelona is also famous for its vibrant nightlife. The restaurants and nightclubs are great with everything going on until the early hours. So if you have the time and the budget try and spend some time in the city before heading off to the slopes.
Transferring from Barcelona to the Ski Resorts
You can drive from the airport to ski resorts in Andorra, the road connecting Barcelona to Andorra is fairly easy so driving yourself is certainly an option. The drive time to most of the Andorran resorts is just under 3 hours. There are also a number of private transfer companies operating from Barcelona airport.
Bus connections to Andorra are also good with six daily shuttle bus transfers. The journey time on most bus and coach operators is around 3.5 hours. If you are taking a bus or coach then do pre book your ticket online before you leave as it will work out cheaper. There are also public service buses that operate from Barcelona to Andorra but they do take longer and don't service the ski resorts as well as the private bus companies.
The nearest Spanish ski resort from Barcelona is La Molina. The driving time is around two hours but you can also get a bus or a train. The first ski train leaves at 06.13 in the morning and arrives in la Molina railway station at 08.43.
