Bern airport lies just 20 minutes from the city centre.  It doesn't compare with Geneva or Zurich in terms of flight route network due to its restricted runway, but from the UK you can get direct flights with SkyWork Airlines from London City Airport and Flybe from London Gatwick, Manchester and Southampton.

Bern Airport itself doesn't have a station but there are regular bus links which will take you to Belp Station. From here you can travel on to Bern or head south towards Spiez.

Bern is located in the vast network of the Swiss Federal Railway between Geneva, Basel and Zurich and is served twice an hour by express trains from each of these cities. Hourly express trains take you to Interlaken, Brig and Lucerne, from where you can access great skiing.

By public transport you could reach Adelboden using bus and train in 2 hours, Wengen can be reached by train in about 2 and a half hours and Murren in two hours.

Hiring a car at Bern airport is easy and then the ski resorts really are very close to hand. Within just 1 hour you have the resorts of Adelboden, Kandersteg, Murren and Wengen and add another half an hour on and you could be in Gstaad, Villars and Leysin.
