WE LIKE

  • Extensive, varied slopes suitable for all with some wooded runs for bad weather days. Known as one of the most snowboard friendly places in Switzerland.
  • Excellent lifts and relatively crowd free pistes even during busy periods, still something of a Swiss secret!
  • 70% of slopes above 2000m so guaranteed snow. Great mountain restaurants.

WE DON'T LIKE

  • South east facing slopes can mean poor snow quality on lower parts of the mountain
  • Need a bus or a long walk to ski lifts from most accomodation. Very spead out resort, can be difficult to navigate
  • Qiuet in the evenings although busier at weekends with skiers from Zurich

Intermediates will enjoy long cruising runs, many of therm above the tree-line, while advanced skiers should head off-piste, to the Siala and Cassons sectors. Snowboarders will find two snow parks and several half pipes available to them, and there are even 3 children's parks.

Ski Area

Off the Slopes

Accommodation in Laax is quite spread out, but facilities are good with over 20 mountain restaurants, and a good selection of nightclubs and restaurants in town for the evening. It is also the home of the famous Crap Bar - don't worry, it's not an assessment of the place - Crap means mountaintop! Away from the slopes you can enjoy extensive walking trails, trips to the Rhine Canyon and a superb sports centre.

Well for many they can work out cheaper. They also in many cases offer great facilities that certainly impress like restaurants, gyms and swimming pools. In addition, apartments may offer more privacy and space if you are travelling with other families or in a large group than say a chalet.
