WE LIKE

Ideal family resort,a special beginners area, the Wold, is only 500m from the village. Good for intermediates. Uncrowded pistes and friendly village atmosphere.
Good ski schools and some great private instructors on hand. British ski school run for tour operator Ski2.
Lots of lift linked skiing right into the Monterosa ski area and it's 180km of runs

WE DON'T LIKE

The Aosta valley has a patchy snow record, so do a last minute booking when you know the snow is good.
Very few challenging pistes close to home - but you have 180km of Monterosa to play on
At peak periods (half term!) you have to wait a bit longer for lifts as it gets very crowded with visitors from Turin and Milan.

On the slopes

Because ski holidays in Champoluc ski resort include access to all the resorts of the Monterosa ski area, you will have access to a huge amount of slopes for all levels of ability. Intermediates will love the long, wide red runs, and advanced skiers will find that hiring a guide is well worth it - some of the best powder in Italy is off-piste in this area. Beginners will find less to suit them, but boarders will like the wide slopes and jumps dotted around.
