Where
Packed with tradition, St Moritz is a traditional Swiss Alpine village. An important spa town since the Middle Ages, it sits in the Engadine valley, beneath the 4000m Piz Bernina. With five high altitude areas, (Corviglia, Corvatsch, Furtschellas, Diavolezza and Lagalb) and over 350km of piste there will always be plenty of snow.
As a guide for accessing the resort, Zurich is the nearest airport about 3.5 hours away which makes it that little bit more exclusive.
On the Slopes
St Moritz offers something for all skiers and boarders. Beginners should start at the nursery slopes at Corviglia, reached by funicular, or Celerina, while intermediates will enjoy the long open runs, such as the 6km Hahensee long run from Corvatsch to St Moritz Bad. Advanced skiers will enjoy the black runs at Diavolezza, the moguls at Lagalb, and the off-piste challenges at Piz Noir. There's plenty for boarders, with great piste and a terrain park in Corviglia.
Ski Area
If you choose to ski in St Moritz you will be in the Swiss ski region of Graubünden.
Off the Slopes
Our ski guide for this resort can help you see things you may otherwise not know. If you choose to come here for your ski holiday, then you'll find that St Moritz is split into two areas :
Dorf, where you'll find the smart hotels and shops, and Bad, which is somewhat quieter. At the last count there were 74 restaurants in the resort - lots of choice, but few of them are cheap - expect to pay prices similar to London or Paris. Jöhri's Talvo, a Relais & Chateaux restaurants are highly recommended.
If you fancy a day away from the slopes you'll find the world famous Cresta run, polo, golf, even cricket!
