WE LIKE

  • Belle Plagne offers a traditional charming village away from La Plagne itself
  • The extent of terrain is excellent for all levels - including some awesome off-piste
  • Excellent lift system means you cover a lot of the slopes each day

WE DON'T LIKE

  • A little restrictive for beginners away from absolute learner slopes
  • Eating out is expensive - made even worse by the exchange rates
  • No night clubs open until the early hours - so don't come to this resort if that's what you want!

On the slopes

The Belle Plagne ski resort offers plenty of slope opportunities for all skiing levels although intermediate skiers may find that they have the most marked options among the 225km of marked skiable terrain. However, there are a sufficient amount of beginners' paths for those who want to learn during their ski holiday. Additionally, expert skiers may enjoy hiring a local guide to ski Belle Plagne and it's many unmarked areas where some of the best paths can be found with fresh snow and plenty of snow cover due to the forest areas.

One advantage of skiing here is that the slopes run in all directions depending on which part the surrounding paths you choose to embark on. Since the ski resort is located in the valley of the Les Bauches, there are seven different regions to ski and plenty of interlocking ski resorts to try out the slopes of via the extensive lift system.

Ski area

If you ski Belle Plagne you are also in the ski region of Paradiski.

Off the slopes

One advantage of staying at the Belle Plagne ski resort is that it has the best nightlife scene in the entire valley area. One special trait the area pubs have, is that despite their modern offerings they have kept their local charm with bars such as the La Tete Inn using milk churns for seats and other themed pubs.

For those who want more family friendly options there are plenty of restaurants among the ten local villages that surround the resort with La Plagne centre the largest village. With their own local shops and traits, it is well worth it to explore each thoroughly for a unique experience.
