Other Resorts

The USA is well worth visiting for a ski holiday. The biggest word to describe the skiing here is probably choice. There are 500 resorts over 40 states to choose from. The slopes tend to be quieter here than in the Alps and what the states will also offer is high quality accommodation and service and incredibly well manicured pistes.

Colorado is one of the main ski areas with 26 main ski resorts including world renowned resorts like Aspen, Breckenridge, Keystone and Vail. California then offers the lakeside resorts and the east coast offers smaller mountain ranges than the west although the snow here  is also very good.

When deciding which ski area is right for you then when travelling to the states you may want to consider the resorts that are often voted the best in the states. These usually include  Aspen in Colorado, Heavenly, Deer Valley, Killington and Vail.

How to Choose a Ski Area

If travelling to the USA from the UK you may choose based on the shorter travel time. But if you can choose anywhere do think about what you really need from a ski resort. Large ski areas can offer huge diversity and choice but in reality you may not need that. Read all our resort reviews to make the right choice.
