The mountain backdrop is high and impressive with vast and varied terrain, it offers the longest piste in the alps, the 16km black Sarenne, some excellent off piste and one of Europe's largest nursery areas. The modern lift system means there are few long queues, great for a weekend break!

Flaine may not be the prettiest resort but it is great for convenience as it is just over 1 hour from Geneva airport. Situated in the Grand Massif ski area it offers 260km of piste, it is very sunny with a good snow record. The resort is traffic free and connected by the free funicular.

It is one of the most snow sure resorts in the world with 90% of its slopes above 2000 metres. The area is best for beginners and intermediates with 132 km of piste, although advanced skiers and boarders do have the black run down the Massif de Balme area.
