Only one hour transfer time from Geneva airport Morzine is ideally situated. In the heart of the huge Portes du Soleil ski area, a huge area that offers a round circuit of 76km which can be completed in a day. It is a pretty chalet style resort with lively après ski and excellent restaurants.

Chamonix is one of the more accessible resorts with Geneva only 53 miles away, it is also only an hour and a half's drive away from Chambery, Lyon only 137 miles away. Home to Europe's highest mountain Mont Blanc it is one of the most snow sure resorts with 90% of its slopes above 2000 metres. It offers a huge variety of expert level terrain and powder descents but as a premium resort it is good for beginners and intermediates. The town itself is stylish with great bars and restaurants.

Mayrhofen is a pretty Tyrolean town in the Ziller Valley only one and a half hours away from Innsbruck. It offers lively nightlife and great terrain. It offers two ski areas Ahorn and Penken and between the entrance of the valley and the Hintertux Glacier you'll find a further four ski areas providing a tremendous variety of terrain.
Argentière, France

Argentière is a small yet attractive resort close to Chamonix and is a mecca for advanced skiers and boarders. It lies just 8km up the valley from Chamonix and is only one and a quarter hours from Geneva airport. For advanced skiers and boarders The Grand Montets is renowned for its steep black piste and off piste runs. Not known for its lively après ski, Argentière is more intimate with a few cosy bars and restaurants.
St Anton, Austria

La Clusaz, France

Only about an hour from Geneva airport La Clusaz is a traditional Savoyard village with a friendly atmosphere. The area is best for beginners and intermediates with 132km of piste, although advanced skiers have the black run down the Massif de Balme area. Accommodation, bars, shops and restaurants are all close to the slopes.

A small picturesque town in the heart of the Ziller Valley and only about an hour from Innsbruck. Though smaller and quieter than its famous neighbour Mayrhofen there are great bars and restaurants and a range of activities including night skiing, curling and sleigh rides. There are only 47km of runs at Zell itself mostly for beginners and intermediates but as it is part of the Zillertal ski area you have access to 455 km of runs across 12 local resorts

Flaine may not be the prettiest resort but it is great for convenience, only one hour from Geneva airport. Situated in the Grand Massif ski area it offers 260km of piste, great varied terrain for all levels of skier and boarder. It is very sunny with a good snow record. The resort is traffic free and connected by free funicular.

Les Gets offers premium skiing only one hour from Geneva airport. As part of the huge Portes du Soleil ski area the resort offers over 650km of skiing and boarding. It is suited to all levels. In appearance les Gets is a very pretty 'chocolate box' chalet style resort with a colourful cafe culture and great après ski.

Alpbach is one of Austria's most picturesque villages, a real winter wonderland. The skiing is excellent for beginners and intermediates with some challenging off piste for advanced skiers and boarders. Situated only an hour and a half from Innsbruck it is a good choice for families. The après ski is informal and relaxing.
