Arinsal

The ideal resort for novices and experts alike, Arinsal Ski Resort is the jewel of Andorra. A favourite of those who like their pubs, chic clubs and lush lounges. Here guests enjoy easy morning access to the gondola, reasonably priced lift passes, long, clean blue runs that festoon the mountain, fast red trails, and some of the best black diamond runs you’ll find.

Courchevel

Touted as one of the most sumptuous European resorts, Courchevel, is tucked away in the famed Three Valleys region of France. Both a skiers and snowboarders heaven, Courchevel has a plethora of top quality runs at all levels. A great choice for families, the French ski resort also boasts tobogganing, ice skating, snow shoeing and hot air ballooning.

Filzmoos

At the base of Bischofsmütze Mountain and Dachstein glacier sits Filzmoos – a scenic Austrian ski village. If you long for the days when horse-drawn carriages shuffled through quaint villages, then Filzmoos is the place for you. Gondolas that seat six carry passengers to the top of the stunning mountain and the trip down counts amongst the most picturesque in the world. But the best feature of Filzmoos is its non-existent lines!

Whistler

Home of the 2010 Winter Olympics and hands-down one of the best ski resort towns in North America, Whistler in British Columbia, is a place every ski lover must experience once. Nestled on the edge of the Canadian Rockies, Whistler-Blackcomb Mountain offers lots of great runs and oodles of accommodation options for all budgets. Thanks to the temperate regional weather, Whistler also enjoys an extra long ski season – it’s one of the few places in the world where you’ll see people barrelling down the slope in shorts and sunglasses!
