Ski Package Holidays
Let someone else take the strain and sort out a package for you. From flying out to transfers and the accommodation, ski package holidays are still a favourite - especially for first timers!
Ski package or all-inclusive ski holidays are generally a good idea, saving you both money and hassle. But what do we mean for ski holidays when we use the terms "all-inclusive" or "package"?
What is a Ski Package?
Unlike other holidays a ski package isn’t just about the food, it often means that you get other things like your lift pass included in the price.
So the first piece of advice we would give is to investigate just what is involved in the offer in front of you, that way you can see if it really does represent good value for money.
Check What's Included
The items to check for are your flights and transfer, accommodation, lift pass, equipment, food and some may even include drinks.
The benefits of packages like this is that you don’t have the hassle of organising them all and there are great cost savings to be made. The downside we guess is that some people will want to do things their way and have greater freedom to decide where and what they eat for example. But if you have no objections to being organised then check out some great package deals.
Which Ski Resorts?
All ski resorts will have operators offering great deals across France, Austria, and Italy and beyond. Some operators will also specialise in ski package deals for families offering childcare and ski lessons in with the price.
There are a large number of ski package operators in the UK. Crystal Ski won the Travel Awards 2016 for the best ski operator. They offer good all-inclusive ski deals which also include things like your travel insurance as well. Also check out their ‘ski bundles’ where, as the name suggests, you can find combinations of extras that suit you. Some of the ski bundles that we looked at included packages for example for first time skiers.
Igluski is another ski package provider in the UK. On their website we also found additional deals for Espace Killy for example whereby you could buy one lift pass to get another at half price.
Family Ski Holiday Options
If you are travelling with children you may want to check out Mark Warner. Operating in France, Austria and Italy they offer different options for families from in house crèches to chalet hotels. They will sort out your children’s ski schools, their nannies will drop off and collect children and they will organise tea and dinner and of course babysitting.
In Summary
These are just some examples of the types of ski packages that are available. The key starting point is to think about what you need. If you own your own skis then a package that provides all equipment hire may not be of great value to you.
Check the detail and if it’s right for you then you could save a huge amount of time and hassle.
