Other Resorts

Croatia is a good value ski destination, so if money is a little tight this could be a good option. It is also benefiting from investment, so as far as lifts and infrastructure are concerned things should start to get better.  Croatia doesn't have the huge interlinked ski areas found elsewhere in Europe but it does have ski resorts very conveniently located.

Platak is only 26km northeast of Rijeka and Bjelolasica, Croatias largest ski resort is only a short drive away from Zagreb. Just outside Zagreb is also Mount Sljeme with 4 good ski runs on offer, a good choice if you are visiting Zagreb and fancy going skiing.

Large interlinked ski areas found elsewhere in Europe can be a great choice for large mixed groups and also if you are away for 2 weeks. Some of the more stand alone resorts like those found in Croatia, also have their place. If you just want to ski for a few days they are perfect.

How to Choose a Ski Area

If you do have the choice of smaller resorts v booking a ski holiday slap bang in the middle of a large interlinked ski area do think it through. Some ski resorts may give you all you need, after all why pay for a ski area lift pass if you will hardly stray from your resort? Think carefully about what you need and our resort reviews will help you decide which resort/ski area is best for you.
