Located high in the swiss alps just 2 hours from Geneva airport, Verbier has first rate skiing and snowboarding terrain and 400km of terrain spead across 4 valleys. Known for its vibrant and sophisticated nighlife with a wide selction of lively bars and a great choice of 60 restaurants, your New Years break in Verbier would certainly bring the new year in in style!
One of the world's most famous resorts, with its lively feel and stunning views of Aspen mountain. With a huge choice of skiing for all levels it extends across 4 mountains - all of which are covered by the same lift pass. Aspen is a vibrant town with boutiques, fine dining and trendy bars mixed in with ski shops, well priced restaurants and pubs. The whole festive period is a mass of celebrations culminating in the New Year's Eve fireworks extravaganza over Apsen Mountain - perfect!
The mountain town of St Anton in Austria is a popular choice for New Year breaks. The après–ski is taken seriously here and St Antons buzzing nightlife and abundance of bars and restaurants mean that you can see New Year in in style. Breckenridge is one of the most popular ski resorts in the USA. Skiing is spread out over 4 mountains and is mostly intermediate and advanced. New Year in Breckenridge is an amazing experience with the main street festooned with twinkling fairy lights creating a festive atmosphere and with over 400 shops, restaurants, bars galleries and spas there is plenty to do! Party-time comes on then 31st with the Glow Worm and Torchlight Parade!
With the Espace Killy at your doorstep, Val d'Isere is regarded by many as one of the finest ski resorts in the world. With 1000 hectares of the most varied marked ski runs and a remarkable 10,000 hectares of off piste it offers an amazing variety of skiing. Luxury ski chalets and hotels rival any other ski resort in the world. It also boasts a vibrant and brilliant après-ski scene (although maybe not Dick's on NYE!) and there's normally fireworks next to the olympic lift come midnight!
Meribel lies in the very centre of the Three Valleys and is one attractive ski resort. With ample skiing in Meribel for all abilities and endless off piste activities, the festive period is usually excellent for snow. Meribel is a chic, cosmospolitan village and with 30 bars and 4 nightclubs it is well set up to cater for your New Year festivities as it's almost magical to spend it in the Alps!
This is not so much a chilled out romantic New year's in the Alps, more a superb on the slopes party! With tons of bars and pubs, you can statr at the Ice Bar and make you way through the town having had a days skiing. The Apropos Bar is popular with boarders, but any bar will do for a great night with old and new friends!
