Russians Ski and Snowboard in Bikinis in Siberia

A group of skiers and snowboarders at the Siberian winter resort of Sheregesh have hit the headlines after releasing a video showing them taking to the slopes wearing nothing but skimpy bikinis and hotpants.

The Siberian resort, where temperatures can plummet to as low as -40C, is aiming to attract more visitors with the claim that it has the best snow in Russia.

The World Snowboard Guide rated it as such, and described the quality of the powder in region as "dry and fast."

Sheregesh also boasts an extra-long skiing season, with good snow conditions from November all the way through to May, hence the possibility of skiing or snowboarding in minimal clothing in the comparatively warm weather.

Male and female skiers and snowboarders are happy to top up their tan by stripping off on the slopes at Sheregesh, and the bikini video is sure to help the cause of the up and coming resort. It's racked up more than six million hits so far on YouTube, although we're guessing the quality of the snow may not be the main reason for its popularity... Amusingly, a slightly overweight topless gentleman also gets in on the action, although the cameraman doesn't focus on him for too long!

Sheregesh is also set to get another reason for visitors to make the eight-hour trek from Moscow, with the opening of a 'Yeti Park'. There have been a number of sightings of the Bigfoot creature in the area, and creators of the park plan to cash in with a 60-room hotel, museum and themed amusement park.
