Where?
Madesimo is nestled in the Spluga Valley and is part of the Valchiavenna ski area. It is a high altitude village close to the Swiss border. It is situated in the Lombardy region of Italy, near to St Moritz just north of Lake Como. Milan would be the nearest International airport.

On the slopes
Madesimo prides itself on its modern lift system and the good news is that there are no drag lifts here!The area is best suited to intermediates who will love the slopes of the ski area known as Pizzo Groppera. This is also a good resort for snowboarders who have a well rated snowpark divided into an easy area, jib area and kicking area. The best known run is the famous black run named 'Canalone' which translates as 'large couloir', it offers skiers and boarders an amazing 1000m vertical!
Madesimo is also good for night skiing, with pistes open 6.30-10.45 each Wednesday and Saturday nights. The lift passes are also very inventive here with specially discounted lift passes for students and you can also purchase lift passes to use on non consecutive days!

Off the slopes
Accommodation wide this is a good value resort with a good range of 4* hotels to choose from. There is an incredible 16km of snowmobile tracks here and even an ice driving school, should you wish to improve your ice driving skills! Good restaurants and cafes abound as you would expect in Italy, the Bollicine cafe is worth a mention for the floor cushions placed on the pavement outside!
