Where?

Set in the heart of the French Pyrenees, only 20km from the Spanish border, is the beautiful resort of Saint Lary Soulan. The two nearest International airports are Toulouse with a transfer time of approximately 2 hours and Barcelona which is nearer three and a half hours transfer. If you can get to Pau airport then there is a free transfer bus available.

On the slopes

The resort is made up of three villages-Saint Lary village (830m), Saint Lary 1700 otherwise known as Pla d'Aget and Saint Lary 1900 or Espiaube. It is only a four minute walk from the centre of the old village to the cable car that will take you to Pla d'Aget where you will find beginners runs and wide cruisy blues. Here there is also a fun kids park, a snowpark and toboggan run.

Saint Lary 1900 has tougher runs including the infamous Mirabelle piste and some of the longest runs in the Pyrenees. Here you will also find an impressive vertical drop of 700m. Good red pistes can also be found if you head to La Soumaye and Tour l'Avays.

Ski area

If you ski Saint Lary Soulan you are also in the ski region of Alpes Maritime.

Off the slopes

Don't come here if you are looking for wild apres ski, this resort is all about families and quiet relaxation. The thermal baths 'Sensoria' are famous for their healing properties and they exemplify what this resort is all about. Accommodation comprises apartments, chalets, some 2* and 3 * hotels, bed and breakfast and a campervan carpark. You can also try out dog sledging, snow mobiling, snowshoeing, hiking and paragliding.
