Ski Goggles

Essential to prevent blindness and keep the wind out your face, ski goggles come in all shapes and sizes and offer you complete protection if you buy the right sort. Money will make a difference on quality here, so spend wisely.

Goggles are pretty crucial when skiing or boarding. When the sun comes out in the mountains it can be blindingly bright - something which your eyes are not designed to cope with for prolonged periods. In addition, even when it's cloudy, the white snow, white cloud and reflections will all "gang up" on your eyes - meaning protection is essential. So wear goggles and protect your eyes from direct and reflected light rays.

How Do You Measure for Ski Goggles?

Ski goggle measurements are taken from the width and depth of your face. To measure the width use a tape measure and measure the space between both temples. For the depth take a measurement from the middle of the cheekbone to just above the eyebrow.

How Can I Tell If My Ski Goggles Fit Properly?

They should feel snug but not too tight! You shouldn't feel any pinching on the nose or on the outer eye socket area. This can be a bit of trial and error but do adjust straps to get the right fit. Also do try your goggles on with your helmet.

Other Buying Considerations

Consider interchangeable lenses if you are planning to wear them in all weather conditions. Mirrored lenses aid the reduction of UV glare improving the UV protection. Polarised lenses are often more expensive but they eliminate the glare from water, snow and ice. Consider over the glasses(OTG) ski goggles if you want to wear goggles over prescription glasses.
