Deer Valley ski resort is a popular American ski destination located about one hour away from Salt Lake City and which lies in the Wasatch mountain range. The Deer Valley resort is frequently ranked as one of the best in North America and offers upscale amenities for all tastes and preferences. This resort is one of the last few that does not permit snowboarders on the mountain.
Where
The Salt Lake City International airport is located within a two hour drive from Deer Valley resort making shorter ski holidays easy for the avid skier. You can take a car or bus for just over a half hour trip to the resort. Getting onto the piste quickly is no problem if driving conditions permit.

On the Slopes
There are 21 ski lifts at the resort which is located above 1500 m and offers a great season for snow enthusiasts. Deer Valley’s skiing takes place on four mountains and includes the Empire Canyon Ski area, and the Empire Summit. There are a variety of levels of trails to ski including difficult runs with ten chutes and up to 60 degree pitches. This terrain and three bowls are amongst the steepest in Utah. Each mountain offers trails for all levels of skiers although most of it is best for skiers at an intermediate level. Advanced skiers can take tours which are offered free every day and there is a varied selection of ski programs to check out. Snowboarding is not permitted at this resort.

Off the slopes
At the Snow Park Lodge, the resorts base main lodge you can get breakfast from 8-10:30 am. Hors d’oeuvres are available after 3:30 pm. Two huts on the mountain provide snacks and hot beverages for cold, tired and hungry skiers. At the Silver Lake Lodge, there are four different eating establishments to choose from including fine dining options. If you are looking for more entertainment facilities it’s best to head to Park City. Here there are more than 100 bars, restaurants, night spots and saloons and many shops to peruse. Salt Lake City is easy to get to for an evening and offers attractions including the Tabernacle choir performances, sporting events and some of the best dining choices.
