Where?

Encamp is a resort situated at the end of the Grandvalira ski region. It is located on the main road between France and Spain along with Pas de la Casa and Andorra La Vella. Encamp therefore has great access to other resorts within Andorra. Barcelona airport is 128 miles away and Toulouse 116 miles.

On the slopes

The local skiing here is small and somewhat limiting , Encamp has 6 slopes and 4 lifts. But what makes Encamp an interesting place is that it links in so well with the ski area Grandvalira with its 118 runs and 210 km of piste. The Funicamp ski lift connects Encamp to the larger ski region. One gripe that skiers and boarders often have here however is that you cannot ski back into the resort. To ski back you have to head for El Tarter or Soldeu and then finish the journey off by road. Intermediates will enjoy this area the most, with a wide variety of well groomed pistes and long cruising runs.

Off the slopes

Encamp isn't the most charming resort to look at but it is low rise which is good news. The main criticism we would make is the heavy traffic that runs through the town leading to quite a degree of congestion. There are a good number of bars and terraces here for apres ski but you may want to head for nearby Andorra La Vella for a good mix of Spanish and French restaurants and culture. As with most Andorran resorts you will find it cheaper here than elsewhere in Europe.The nearby Caldea spa is also well worth a visit, with indoor-outdoor pools, fountains and waterfalls, saunas, hot-tubs, Turkish baths, hydrotherapy, sunbeds and massage.
